Chiron: The Key to Everything

(Pronounced Ky-ron, with a hard “K” as in King.)

I have chosen Chiron as the symbol that represents me as an artist, a writer, and a human being. I fell in love with Chiron because he is the wounded healer, the shaman, and the alchemist. He was born wounded, rejected, but that didn’t stop him from becoming his best self. In Greek mythology, he was a wise, kind, and intelligent centaur, surpassing his teacher, Apollo, in all abilities such as archery, medicine, astrology, poetry, healing arts, and so much more.

Chiron’s symbol is the key—the KEY to ourselves. The key to wholeness, to fulfillment, and to the decoding of our souls and purpose. He is associated with our failures, our deepest pains, but also with our greatest gifts. By recognizing, accepting, and overcoming our wounds, we transform them into our greatest gifts. It is only through delving into the depths of our wounds that we truly heal and discover our true essence.

We are all broken in one way or another. It is in piecing ourselves together that we understand how to bring order to chaos, and how to unlock the secret doors to our minds and spirits.

In astrology, Chiron is a minor planet that orbits between Saturn and Uranus. Saturn is the last planet we can see in the sky with the naked eye. The outer planet Uranus represents the world beyond the known. Thus, Chiron is the link between two worlds—the tangible reality and the ethereal mystery.

What I love most about Chiron is that he was half human, half horse, half mortal, and half immortal. And just like him, we are a blend of spirit and matter. There are parts of us that we love and accept, parts that we reject, and parts of us that are still being discovered, still waiting to be healed.

When we accept our imperfections as perfect, see the broken pieces as artistic brush strokes on a canvas—magic happens. Restrictions and barriers fall away. The cosmic energy flows through us effortlessly. We are then remedied, and we become the remedy. In short, we are the antidote to ourselves.

Life is all about the journey of self-discovery and transformation. We hold the key to everything. It is up to us to access that key within ourselves.

When we find something that speaks to us in a profound way, we know we have found the wise teacher who can help us be the best version of ourselves. Chiron is that teacher for me.
